Kumbh Mela is one of the holiest festivals in India and is celebrated in the 04 Holy Towns of India – Haridwar popularly known as The Gateway to the Gods, Prayag – Allahabad Triveni Sangam where the Maha Kumbh Mela is celebrated every 12 years, Ujjain – known for its powerful Shiva Temple “Mahakaleshwar” and the Goddess Temple and at Nasik - Holy town where Lord Rama and Sita spent years in exile at Panchvati. Nasik is also the home of the important Shiva Jyotirlinga Temple “Trimbakeshwar” which is the source of Holy River Godavari. According to Hindu mythology it is believed that drops of “Amrit” - The Nectar have been dropped at these places while Lord Vishnu carrying the Nectar in a Kumbh (pot).
Ardh Kumbh Mela 2019 is upcoming Kumbh Mela to be held & celebrated in the Holy Town of Allahabad at Triveni Sangam (confluence of three pious rivers - Ganga , Yamuna and Saraswati) from 14th January to 04th March 2019. The important bathing dates are as follows:

01 Feb - 03 Feb: Haridwar & Rishikesh. The Holy town of Rishis, Yogis, the famous Ashrams, participate in the personalized Ganga Arti. Take the Holy dip in the Ganges.
